Kedest Gebreselassie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Kedest has devoted her career to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals across their lifespans. With over 15 years of experience in the field, she has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a broad range of mental health disorders.
Kedest completed her undergraduate studies in nursing at George Mason University, then earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family practice at Marymount University and later earned a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric and mental health at Shenandoah University. She began her career in mental health as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in an outpatient clinic treating a multitude of mental health conditions.
Over the years, Kedest has worked mainly in outpatient mental health settings and has experience providing individual and group therapy, as well as medication management for clients with conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.
As a PMHNP, Kedest is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to her clients. She believes in a holistic approach to mental health care, considering the many factors that can contribute to mental health challenges, including biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. Kedest strives to work collaboratively with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
